Serving Neighbors Who Need Our Help
Our residents have no
other alternative but to live on the streets of Fort
Worth
Resident
Requirements
Residents must be HIV+ but
do not have to currently have AIDS. They must
be homeless and considered "low income"
by U.S. Governement standards. In addition, they may
have special needs for medical or psychological treatment.
While at Samaritan House, residents must maintain
100% compliance with their medical treatment plans.
Multiple
Conditions
90% of our residents require treatment for multiple
health conditions. 75% receive medical treatment for
conditions other than HIV/AIDS such as diabetes, cancer,
heart conditions, or asthma. A third of our residents
receive monitoring for mental health conditions and
6% have a mental retardation diagnosis.
Various
Backgrounds
Many of our residents come from traditional middle-class
backgrounds. However, lost time on the job can cause
them to lose their job and their health insurance.
Then, it's a short journey until all of their financial
resources are exhausted and they find themselves unable
to help themselves and in need of our assistance.
