Job Summary Samaritan House, a facility
for people living with HIV/AIDS is seeking two part-time
Resident Care Attendants. Under the Supervision of
the RN Case Manager, the Resident Care Attendant’s
primary role is to monitor and assist residents in
a goal-oriented and supportive environment of growth
and empowerment, in addition to related functions
outlined by the RN Case Manager. The RCA is responsible
for basic care, assistance with activities of daily
living, supervision, transportation, and other assigned
functions related to the resident’s care plans.
Qualifications
High School Diploma (College
hours in behavioral science preferred).
Working knowledge of
HIV/AIDS, chemical dependency and
psychiatric care.
Knowledge of and sensitivity
to HIV/AIDS issues.
Ability to effectively
communicate with varied cultural and
socio-economic groups.
Good organizational skills,
ability to work as a team member
or independently.
Food Handler Certification
CPR Certification
Current Texas Driver’s
License
Hazards May be exposed to HIV or other
infectious diseases; may be exposed to blood borne
pathogens or other environmental hazards.
Compensation $8.00 to $10.00 per hour depending
on experience and qualifications.
