By reducing homelessness,
substance abuse, crime, new HIV infections,
and the demand for publicly funded medical
care, Samaritan House makes Fort Worth a
better place for everyone!
"Out
of the Box" Luncheon Sets New Standard Single
event raises record levels of donations for Samaritan
House We’ve all heard of thinking
out of the box, but giving out of the box is something
else all together.
What is now slated as an annual
event, Samaritan House hosted its first Out of
the Box Luncheon the Fort Worth Club on Wednesday,
November 8th. A crowd of nearly 300 came to learn
about the agency’s accomplishments this year,
including the completion
of The Villages at Samaritan House.
The event raised the most money
ever in cash and pledges for a single event, and will
help support the annual operations of Samaritan House.
Plans for next year’s Luncheon are already underway.
“We were honored by the large
number of guests who attended our luncheon,”
says Steve Dutton, Samaritan House President and CEO,
“and by their generous offering of financial
support for the next five years toward our operations.”
Included was a Leadership Gift by
Betty Youngman, through the Youngman Family Foundation,
which helped launch a new multiple-year Giving Society,
the Homes and Hope Society, that will help
underwrite housing and supportive services offered
to individuals and families - including children -
now living at The Villages at Samaritan House.
