Integrated
Service-Enriched Housing
Samaritan House is one of only three facilities in
the State of Texas and one of only 11 in the United
States delivering such a broad range of services in
an integrated fashion.
Active Community Networking
The management team actively
networks within the local community, constantly looking
for cooperative opportunities. This has resulted
in the acquisition of the existing building for $1
and tax credits to fund over 50% of the Villages
at Samaritan House.
Leveraging
existing community resources
Samaritan
House works with over 30 other agencies and organizations
to deliver services to residents. This avoids duplication
of facilities, conserves resources, and allows Samaritan
House to focus its efforts on items not already provided
within the community.
Building
Trust
Integrity
is essential to maintain the trust and confidence
of contributors. Samaritan House is committed to maintaining
the highest levels of integrity and honesty. Samaritan
House successfully passes more than six external audits
each year, primarily from government agencies. In
addition, Samaritan House engages the services of
accounting firm, Wood, Stephens, and O'Neil, LLP to
provide an independent audit.
Participative
Leadership
The Resident
Council allows residents to have an active role in
managing the delivery of services. In addition, residents
hold a seat on the Board of Directors. This not only
give residents a direct voice in governance, it promotes
self-esteem and confidence.
Partnership
with Research
Samaritan
House is certified by the State of Texas as a Teaching
Facility and is recognized by local universities as
a Learning Center. In this way, Samaritan House helps
promote research and development to combat HIV and
its effects.
