Joe's Run Celebrates Eleventh
Year!
Join Samaritan House and
friends for this annual 5k run

It's
hard to believe that it's been ten years since the
first Joe's Run, one of the biggest, most exciting
benefit runs in Fort Worth. On Saturday, March
29th, will host the Annual Joe's Run, kicking off at 8:00 AM. This
popular 5K race benefits Samaritan House, a residential
facility for men and women living with HIV/AIDS.
Again this year, the Run will be chip timed with
the IPICO chip. To register before
the race, stop by Samaritan House at 929 Hemphill,
or register
online.
Entry
fees are as follows:
| Single Runner
(Through March 15): |
$18 |
| Single Runner (After March
15): |
$20 |
| Team Runner (Teams of 5 or
more): |
$15 |
| Race Day Registration: |
$25 |
Your entry fee entitles you to a
colorful T-shirt and admission to the after-race party. Registration for this race will
fill up quickly, so early commitment is encouraged.
Joe's Run has continued
to grow steadily since its inception. The first
race saw more than five hundred runners turn out to
compete for the hand-carved parrot trophies offered
as prizes. Each subsequent year, the number
of participants has increased by as much as five hundred
per year or more. Last year, more than 2500
runners and volunteers took part in the festivities.
Aside from contributing
to what is the largest fundraiser of the year for
Samaritan House, there are other benefits to being
a part of this year's run. In addition to the
T-shirt, every paying participant gets free food. Of course, soft drinks
and water are available. There
will be children's activities, as well as trophies
for all age groups. Through this annual event,
Samaritan House not only makes thousands of new friends
in the community, but they also help to raise a portion
of their operating costs for the coming year.
