By reducing homelessness,
substance abuse, crime, new HIV infections,
and the demand for publicly funded medical
care, Samaritan House makes Fort Worth a
better place for everyone!
Samaritan
House Gets a Facelift Cassidy
Arend, Miss Teen Dallas County, spruces up the grounds
Samaritan
House benefited from a recent beautification project,
complete with a new garden and park benches, thanks
to Miss Teen Dallas County 2005 Cassidy Arend.
In only one week, the 15-year-old
Keller High School sophomore single-handedly secured
a truckload of supplies and plants donated from Home
Depot in Keller, The Flower Ranch in Keller, and The
Plant Shed in Benbrook. Arend was accompanied on March
12th at Samaritan House by Jason Ware, Executive Director
of the Miss Dallas County Scholarship Organization,
Kelly Schulz, Associate Director, and Brook Webster,
Miss Dallas County 2005.
Last
month, Cassidy was recognized during the Miss Teen
Dallas County Scholarship Pageant’s community
service project that collected 450 towels for Samaritan
House. Cassidy alone collected over 250 towels that
were donated to residents of Samaritan House. She
will compete for the title of Miss Teen Texas in Fort
Worth in July.
Thanks to the Home Depot, The Flower Ranch, and
The Plant Shed for their genorosity, and to the Miss
Teen Dallas County Scholarship Pageant for their support
and service to Samaritan House.
