Mentoring a Hope Works Participant

Hope Works seeks community volunteers who would like to serve as mentors for program participants.

Functions and responsibilities of a mentor:

• Meet with the particcipant, supervisor and a Hope Works staff member to discuss expectations and content of the participant’s internship project and to answer questions

• Maintain contact witth the participant, with a face-to-face meeting at least once a month, from the time the participant enters the program until he or she is placed in employment

• Continue supervisionn of participant throughout the first year of employment

• Respect the connfidentiality of the professional relationship of participant, supervisor and mentor
